A service learning project for Mr. Tjaden's class is putting together a fundraiser by Jordyn Luft. Jordyn's grandma was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and possibly others but that is the main one. Jordyn will be selling shirts that show awareness for her and stickers. If you purchase a sticker you can for students: wear a hat , for teachers: wear jeans. this will take place on Wednesday, December 14th 2022. Senior Jacob Hargens signed his national letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Dordt University. Jacob is the all-time leading scorer and rebounder in Sioux Central history. He is the son of John and Karen Hargens of Greenville. Congrats Jacob!

$5 Baked Potato Bar on Monday, December 5th for the Boys' Basketball Games. Please come out and support the Calculus class to raise money to go to the Space Settlement Design Competition in Houston, Texas in March.
Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation is hosting its annual Operation Christmas Meal pork loin giveaway in 12 different communities over the next few weeks. As a school district that receives our Power Snack coupons, we want to continue giving to your families throughout the year. I wanted to personally invite you, your students and families to attend our drive through event. I want to ensure that we are reaching as many individuals and families in your community as possible and would greatly appreciate it if you could share this information with your staff to spread the word. The cost is free, and anyone is eligible for a pork loin. We will be in Storm Lake on Tuesday, December 13, from 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. at Kings Pointe Resort, 1520 East Lakeshore Drive. While I realize this giveaway is not directly in your community, we still welcome all those to join if they are able. We hope that through this we will be able to serve many more families than we ever have before. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Donate Used Shoes! Mr. Tjaden’s Character Development class is holding a shoe drive from November 28-December 9. Used shoes can be donated outside the main office in the big gray bucket. All shoes will go overseas to families in need.

Sioux Central P.I.E. is selling Christmas Cookie Kits for our winter fundraiser. All proceeds will go back to our wonderful teachers and students! We are doing a Christmas Game Show for staff the week before Christmas break. We are looking for any kind of prizes from tacky light-up Christmas accessories, grab-bag type items, Christmas candy. etc. to nicer prizes like gift certificates for meals and/or services, fun gift baskets or bags with items inside, etc. The more the merrier!! You can drop them off with Christy in the elementary office if you come up with something. It's a great time to thank our staff for all they do for the kids in our communities. We have some fun in store for them throughout the week as well...so stay tuned!!
This week is a short week for our students. Full school days Monday (21st) and Tuesday (22nd) and NO SCHOOL 23rd-27th. We are THANKFUL for all our families at Sioux Central. Have a great long break!
