Just a reminder...all tickets for post-season baseball and softball are required to be purchased online. BB plays July 1st in Milford at 5:00 p.m. You can get tickets at https://www.iahsaa.org/tickets/ go to class 2A and the Milford site. SB will be announced at a later date.

Mayterm Photography had a busy week learning about photo composition, aperture, ISO, and shutter speed. They also visited some great people and places from local businesses (Tim Fuchs, Jason Braunschweig, and F8 Creative) to Ames and Saltech Marketing and Iowa State photojournalism! You can check out some of their photos at the Clay County Fair in Sept.!
Clay Binder - a middle school student at Sioux Central - is part of the Iowa Junior High School Rodeo Association which just finished up its season with state finals May 27-30. Clay finished the 2022-23 season 4th in boys' goat tying and 5th in boys' breakaway roping! He made it to the Junior High School National Finals Rodeo in Perry, GA in a couple of weeks in goat tying and missed going in breakaway roping by one placing. Congratulations, Clay, and good luck at Nationals!
Middle School students in the Card Making May Term class had the opportunity to make a variety of different cards and tags and learned a lot of different paper tools, such as stamping, using embossing tools, and how to use paper-cutting machines. What a super creative bunch of kiddos!
The SC softball team volunteered at the cemetery in Peterson by helping take down the memorial flags! Great job ladies for helping out!!
Mr. Krager teaches a construction unit for May term. The students did a great job of building a 10'X20' shed to be used as a control building for a local farmers grain operation.
Mrs. Brown's Middle School May Term spent the week learning the ins and outs of board and card games! We spent time looking at what makes good instructions, how games are set up, and what the purpose of the game is. Students then created their own games to share for the last day with other groups.
The Hooves and Paws May Term class got to experience many different careers in the equine and canine industries this week, including therapy horseback riding and dog training.
Geology & Soils May Term visited UNI, Iowa, and ISU Geology and Agronomy Departments as well as three stare parks. A lot of everyday applications and some recreation as well.
Students in Mrs. Tate's May Term have spent the week exploring their family history. They traveled to the Buena Vista County Historical Association on Tuesday to research in the genealogy department. Thursday the students were able to participate in a Cemetery Tour led by Dick Gilmore.
