Spencer Hospital’s Community Outreach Committee invited our first-grade students to participate in a fun and educational event today—the Teddy Bear Clinic and Hospital Tour. This engaging experience was designed to help young children become familiar with a hospital environment in a friendly and comforting way.
During the event, each student received a free teddy bear and took on the role of the bear’s nurse or doctor, performing a mock check-up to learn more about healthcare procedures in an interactive setting. In addition to this hands-on activity, students embarked on a guided tour of the hospital, providing them with a welcoming introduction to medical spaces they may encounter in the future. By engaging students in a playful, supportive environment, the hope is to make future medical visits less intimidating. It was so exciting hearing all the kids talk about their bears, what they named them, and all the cool things they saw at the hospital on their visit. Thank you to the Spencer Hospital and other donors for this amazing experience for our kids.

Sioux Central Elementary is thrilled to announce that I Love to Read Month is HERE! This year’s theme is “Lights, Camera, Books!” Get ready for a month full of fun activities designed to spark your child’s imagination and foster a lifelong love of reading. Tuesday, February 4 is Tip Your Hat to Reading. Elementary students should wear their favorite hat or a hat inspired by a character in a book. Watch Seesaw for many more fun activities.
Congratulation to senior Linnea Bloom! On Friday she signed her letter of intent to continue her academic and running career at Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. Linnea will run cross country and track and field under head coach Scott Barnes at WIU. We know Linnea will continue to accomplish great things as she continues her running career and we are very excited to watch her at the collegiate level!
The Junior Class will be selling Valentine's orders for either a Carnation or Crush soda during elementary - high school lunch on Monday and Tuesday of this week, as well as at the varsity ball games on Tuesday. All orders need to be in by Tuesday night!
