The Sioux Central varsity basketball teams are proud to recognize Boston Shaughnessy as a Kid Captain! At Sioux Central Schools, we take great pride in building character alongside achievement. Due to the weather for tonight we are going to cancel the JV BB games and move up the start time of the girls varsity game to 5:00 p.m. The boys varsity game will follow. At this time those are the only changes...but stay tuned!

🎶 Join Us for an Evening of Winter Music! 🎶

Our 6-12 grade vocal and instrumental students are excited to present their winter concert on Monday, December 15th at 7:00 PM in the High School Gym. Come enjoy a night of music-making as our students share the sounds of the season!

Student Details:
• Middle School: Please dress nicely
• High School: Concert black attire
• All students should be in the gym bleachers and ready by 6:40 PM

Our TK-5 Winter Concert is December 18th, 2025, at 6:30pm in the high school gym. Please note the earlier start time from previous years. The students have been working hard and are excited to share what they have been working on with all of you! Students are encouraged to wear their best holiday/festive dress clothes. Elementary classrooms will be open for students to line up at 6:15 so we can have students line up in their concert order and get settled in their spots in the gym. This process may take some time, so arriving on time will ensure a timely start to the concert.

Get ready to fuel your Friday! Our NASA Meal fundraiser is touching down on Friday the 12th, serving at 4:30 PM before the SC vs. Manson game. For just $10, you’ll get a pork loin sandwich, baked beans, chips, a bar, and refreshing lemonade. The varsity G/B wrestling tournament for tomorrow (12/6/25) in Milford has been cancelled due to weather. It will not be rescheduled.

The MS fun night scheduled for tomorrow (12/6/25) has been postponed, due to incoming weather, to Jan. 17th. It will run the same time frame.

Mrs. Schmidt models one of the beautiful HANDMADE hat and scarf sets just donated to our school and even though she definitely wasn’t looking for recognition, we just can’t help but shine a little spotlight on the incredibly kind and talented Patty Weiland!
The craftsmanship is absolutely stunning, and Patty created so many matching sets for our students. These thoughtful gifts will keep our kids warm, cozy, and feeling cared for all winter long.

REMINDER!!!
Middle School Fun Night is this weekend and the Girls Track and Field crew is ready to turn the Commons into the place to be. Join us on Saturday December 6 for music, food and a whole lot of energy. Doors open at 6:30 and we wrap up at 9:00. Admission is $5 CASH ONLY. Sioux Central, Albert City-Truesdale, and Clay Central Everly students in grades 6 through 8 are invited. Come hungry (food & beverages available for purchase) and ready to have fun.

Pictures from our Music Department trip to Wicked: For Good!

Our 7–12 vocal and instrumental students had a fantastic day at the movies together. So proud of this group for representing our program so well!

I just want to give a shout out to Mr. Price for organizing a field trip for the JH & HS music students to have a private screening of Wicked: For Good in Spencer today. We took 130 students (which shows how many students are involved in music at Sioux Central) and had absolutely zero issues. Everything ran very smoothly and the students were wonderful ambassadors for our school. Managers from both restaurants commented on how well behaved and courteous our students were. All the students I talked to said that it was a good experience and they were glad they went.

The Sioux Central varsity basketball teams would like to recognize elementary students as KID CAPTAINS this season. At Sioux Central Schools, we have made great character a high priority at all grade levels. These students are nominated for being Safe, Caring, Respectful, and Responsible. The Speech/Drama Department will be hosting a pulled pork meal Tuesday, December 2nd at the Basketball games against ELC. $8 for a pulled pork sandwich, chips, a dessert, and bottled water with your choice of flavoring packets!
