We have had “0” new Staff or Student cases this week!
Dear Sioux Central Community,
I hope everyone is staying safe and well. I wanted to give the community an update surrounding COVID-19. We strive to do our best to keep both the students and staff here at Sioux Central safe. We have had 0 new positive student cases, keeping our total at 13 students or 2% of our entire student body. We currently have 3 new quarantined students since 10/14/2020. Sioux Central has had a total of 80 students quarantined or 12.1% of our student body since 8/24/2020. We have had a total of nine staff members test positive with everyone back in the building with “0” new staff cases this week.
Teachers are continuing to do some student separation in the classroom based on those wearing masks and not wearing masks, to prevent students from having to quarantine. Our goal is to keep students safe and in school. I will be sending out new communication within the week on the changes coming surrounding students wearing masks vs no mask. Please continue to encourage your child to wear a mask to slow the spread, especially with the new guidance that was shared last week by public health! Do your part by wearing a mask to protect yourself and others!
Go Rebels!
Mr. Wood
