MISSION STATEMENT
Sioux Central Library Media Center: Inspiring Readers, Thinkers & Lifelong Learners
At Sioux Central Community School Library, we go beyond just books—we’re here to spark curiosity, fuel imagination, and empower students with the skills they need to navigate the world of information. Our mission is to create a welcoming space where every learner can explore, discover, and grow into a lifelong reader and critical thinker.
How We Make That Happen:
A Library for Everyone – Our doors are open to all students, staff, and families, providing a welcoming and inclusive space to learn, collaborate, and explore.
Partnering for Success – We work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to create meaningful learning experiences that support student achievement.
Building Strong Readers & Thinkers – From early literacy to advanced research, we help students develop reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills while reinforcing classroom learning.
Encouraging Curiosity & Critical Thinking – Whether through books or digital resources, we promote independent learning, analytical thinking, and informed decision-making.
Information at Your Fingertips – We teach students how to search for, evaluate, and use information effectively—because knowing how to find reliable sources is just as important as the information itself.
Connecting Beyond Our Walls – Our library isn’t just four walls—it’s a gateway to endless learning opportunities through resource sharing, interlibrary loans, and partnerships with the larger educational community.
Embracing Technology – As the world evolves, so do we. We equip students with the skills to use technology effectively, enhancing their learning and digital literacy.
Freedom to Explore – Our collection is diverse and thoughtfully curated, offering books and resources that reflect a wide range of ideas, cultures, and perspectives.
At Sioux Central Library, we believe that every student is a reader, a thinker, and a learner for life. Let’s turn the page together.
