WELCOME TO SIOUX CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

I am Jeff Scharn, the Sioux Central Middle/High School principal here to tell you a little about myself and the opportunities you have at the high school. I’ve been the high school principal here at Sioux Central for the past 26 years, and before that taught in the district for 9 years. I received my BA from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska, and my MA from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Since earning my Masters, I have continued my education and received my Educational Specialist degree from Wayne State.

My wife Lynn and I reside in Peterson and have three daughters. Briana received her doctorate in OT from Creighton University and is an Occupational Therapist for the AEA out of the Storm Lake office, while Brooke received her BA from UNI and is teaching Kindergarten at Southeast Polk, and Nicole is a senior at UNI this fall working on her degree in Communications Disorders. I have been very pleased with the education that my daughters have received here at Sioux Central, and feel it is an honor to serve as the districts principal.

The students of Sioux Central High School have great opportunities to prepare themselves beyond their high school years. We are a high school that offers a lot of opportunities for college bound students and a variety of classes for those interested in vocational and fine arts. We pride ourselves in offering 50+ hours of dual credit classes and also offer five Advanced Placement courses. We also pride ourselves in being a 1:1 school that engages our students in the learning process. With the outstanding curriculum, activity programs and a dedicated staff that strives to get to know each student as an individual, great high school memories will be made here at Sioux Central.

Please contact me if you have any questions about the Sioux Central High School. We are very proud of our school system and our programming and I would be happy to discuss all avenues of the educational system with you.

Have a great day!!
